What Grace is

Grace is an AI assistant trained on DBT-skills materials to help you identify which skills to try, talk through a situation, and surface relevant exercises. Grace is a software system, not a person.

What Grace is not

  • Grace is not a therapist, counselor, or medical professional.
  • Grace cannot diagnose, prescribe, or replace professional care.
  • Grace should not be your only source of crisis support.

How your conversations are used

  • Conversations are stored on our servers tied to your account so you can review them and so Grace can pick up where you left off.
  • We do not use your conversations to train third-party AI models.
  • We do use anonymized, aggregated metrics (e.g., "how often does Grace surface the TIPP skill") to improve the product.

Underlying models

Grace runs on a tiered set of large language models from Anthropic (Claude). Sensitive crisis routing uses safety-tuned smaller models; conversational responses use the latest Claude family. All requests travel over TLS to a HIPAA-eligible inference endpoint.

Crisis routing

When Grace detects crisis content, it surfaces local hotlines and the safety plan, and gently redirects to human support. It will not engage in extended back-and-forth on suicidal ideation; the goal is to get you to a human or hotline as fast as possible.

Opt out

You can use the app without ever talking to Grace — all exercises and skills work independently. If you want your conversation history deleted, request it via Account → Privacy & Security or by email.
