Willing Hands Practice

Cultivate acceptance through body posture

What you'll do

Willing Hands is a body posture that signals openness and acceptance. Through this short practice you'll learn how physical openness can create mental and emotional acceptance, even in challenging situations.

The posture

  • Sit or stand comfortably with your arms at your sides
  • Turn your palms to face upward, fingers relaxed and slightly curved
  • Let your shoulders drop and soften
  • Relax your facial muscles, especially jaw and forehead
  • Breathe naturally and notice the feeling of openness

“This posture signals to your nervous system that you're open to whatever comes, reducing the body's natural tendency to brace against difficulty.”
